River City High School’s football team played host to the visiting Cosumnes Oaks Wolfpack on Friday, Oct. 28.

The Cosumnes Oaks JV team outscored River City, holding them to just 12 points.

Scoring for River City were #13, Jamal Williams with a 55-yard TD run and #56, Robert Aiello with a two-yard TD. Final score 39-12.

The Cosumnes Oaks Wolfpack varsity team broke open a close game with three second-half touchdowns, for a 25-7 win over the River City Raiders.

River City took a brief 7-6 lead in the third quarter on an eight-yard touchdown pass from Joey Beall to Mark Dutra.

However, the Wolfpack responded with a TD on their next possession and never looked back. Turnovers and penalties consistently slowed the Raider offense and provided Cosumnes Oaks with good field position.

The Raiders will conclude their season with a home game this Friday, against Union Mine and the state’s leading rusher, Sean Tow. — from DE’ONNA JACK
