FROM THE NEWS-LEDGER — NOV 16, 2011 –
Rodolfo “Rudy” Clarke celebrated his 90th birthday last week, alongside his wife of 62 years, Bea, and their sons and grandchildren. Sons David, Edward and Paul joined them from the Sacramento and Davis area, while son Robert was due to travel from New Hampshire for the party.
Clarke was born in Texas and attended Texas A & I (now “Texas A & M”). He retired from a 37-year career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as a supervisory civil engineer.
He served in the Marine Corps during World War II and participated in the Solomon Island campaign.
The Clarke family was also planning to celebrate the 62-year marriage of Rudy and Bea Clarke. The couple married on Nov. 20, 1949, in Brownsville, Texas. They’ve lived in West Sacramento for 56 years.
