A missing Elk Grove man was found on West Sacramento’s riverfront March 26, and carried up the riverbank to get medical help. The unidentified man was about 75 years old and had been missing for two days. Further details about the man were unavailable.
The man was found on a levee near South River Road, and a unit from the Elk Grove police also responded. West Sacramento firefighters performed a “low angle rescue,” carrying the man up the riverbank using a rope system and a litter.
“He had an altered level of consciousness and possible hypothermia,” Fire Department Division Chief Jon Heilman told the News-Ledger.
