Pfc Robert De Anda: a recent graduate of Army basic training, whose father is currently deployed to Afghanistan

FROM THE NEWS-LEDGER — MAY 30, 2012 –

PFC Robert (Bobby) De Anda completed nine weeks of U.S. Army Basic Training, graduating on March 29, at Ft. Benning, Georgia.  He also completed five weeks of Advanced Individual Training, graduating on May 10 at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma.

PFC De Anda will begin Airborne School at Ft. Benning  on June 4, before reporting to his yet-to-be-determined location to begin his duties as a Field Artillery Cannon Crewmember.

He is a 2010 graduate of River City High School.

  His family includes parents Richard & Gina De Anda, sister Stephanie De Anda, brother Christopher De Anda, grandparents Ben & Carol Baker (proprietor of Carol’s Restaurant), and grandparents Raul & Margaret De Anda, all of West Sacramento, CA.

His father, SFC Richard De Anda, is currently deployed to Afghanistan.

  ONLINE UPDATE, JUNE 8: Pfc Robert De Anda has received his orders. After completing airborne school, he will be assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina.
