The West Sacramento Chamber of Commerce has just announced that it will cancel the annual tree-lighting ceremony scheduled for tonight in front of city hall.
The decision was made “in the interest of public safety,” said a message from the chamber as this week’s rain and wind storm continues. There was no immediate word on whether there would be an attempt to reschedule.
The ceremony annually includes a throw of the light switch for the tall tree now standing decorated and ready at 1110 West Capitol Avenue, a visit from Santa, and music and hot chocolate.
