NEWS-LEDGER — DEC 11, 2013 –

Last year’s event was canceled by stormy weather, but celebrants this year just moved indoors to dodge a drizzle

The West Sacramento Chamber of Commerce threw its annual holiday party at city hall on Friday evening.

With a bit of moisture in the air, the party moved from the city hall front lawn to the indoor “galleria.”

Attendees included many eager youngsters waiting for a confidential word with Santa, who was scheduled to arrive by fire truck part-way into the party.

There were refreshments, and Christmas carols.

It took three pulls at the switch. But Santa and Mayor Christoper Cabaldon successfully threw the switch that lit the city’s ‘holiday tree’ in front of 1110 West Capitol Avenue. (News-Ledger photo)
