The schools in the Washington Unified School District have posted 20-plus point gains in API test scores for two years in a row.
Does this mean local schools are getting better? Is the emphasis on improving test scores a good thing? Is anything getting lost because of this emphasis?

I think the question is; how did they improve the test scores?

It they taught to the test then I would say there is no real improvement. If they improved the score by providing a better overall education the I say bravo.
