Rowers hold party, boat dedication

The traditional champagne-bottle christening of a new racing shell named in honor of one of the club’s founders, a Cambridge University grad and former world class sculler. The late Mr. Martin made part of his career with the California Energy Commission, and was a driving force in pushing for higher energy efficiency standards. Christening the boat at left are his daughter, Judy, his wife, Maria, and club member Peter Brostrom. Playing at the party was ‘Mike McGowan and the Mighty Delta Roadmasters.’ The band includes County Supervisor Mike McGowan and former mayor Cindy Tuttle.
