Senator Garage celebrates 85 years

The historic Senator Garage building at 521 C Street in northern West Sacramento celebrated its 85th birthday on Oct. 1 with a party. The occasion was also used to re-dedicate a plaque commemorating a local courthouse “somewhere” near that site in the mid-1800s, before the local court was made obsolete (“stolen”) by Woodland.
The community group “E Clampus Vitus” restored the plaque (which they first dedicated in 1970) after it was found discarded and abused, placing it into a new concrete mount – with a bottle of booze embedded into the concrete for good luck, or whatever.
