The 7-11 convenience market at 1552 Jefferson Boulevard was robbed Thursday night, and the suspect is still at large.
“A white male adult robbed the clerk, taking an undisclosed amount of cash, fleeing on foot,” Sgt. Nathan Steele of the West Sacramento Police Department told the News-Ledger today. The store is located in central West Sacramento on Jefferson close to 15th Street and Stone Boulevard.
The suspect was armed, although Steele declined to discuss further details due to the ongoing investigation. No one was hurt during the robbery. When the crime was reported at about 9:50 p.m., there was a “pretty extensive search,” said Steele. Joining local police officers in the chase were a Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department helicopter and a Sacramento police K-9 team.
Steele said that there have been a string of robberies in West Sacramento targeting “liquor stores and gas stations.”
“Over the last two days, we’ve had five,” he reported.
So far, police don’t believe the 7-11 robbery was linked to the others, but they’re continuing to investigate all the crimes.
