FROM THE NEWS-LEDGER –
Popular Old Sacramento underground tours will resume on March 31st and continue through the fall.
Old Sacramento streets were raised in the 1860s to protect the city from floods and tour participants can explore excavated foundations and enclosed pathways while listening to a tour guide explain how the raising was done.
The tours will depart every 30 minutes on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:30 am to 3 pm, leaving from the Sacramento History Museum, 101 “I” Street in Old Sacramento. The cost is $15 for adults and $10 for children. For more information on how to purchase online tickets go to www.historicoldsac.org.
