Injured man faces felony charges

An investigation into a police shooting on July 9 is still underway, reports Sergeant Nathan Steele, spokesman for the West Sacramento Police Department.

Steele told the News-Ledger last week that officers responded to a domestic call on Platinum Lane (in the Ironworks subdivision near Raley Field) when a man at the scene made a grab for an officer’s gun and was shot.

The man is recovering from his injury — but he has been charged with “numerous felony violations,” reports Steele.

The department hasn’t released the name of the injured man or the officer. The officer was placed on routine administrative leave following the incident.
