FROM THE WEST SACRAMENTO NEWS-LEDGER — AUG 29, 2012 –
Army Specialist Joshua M. Pruitt has returned to the U.S. after being deployed overseas at a forward operating base to serve in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Pruitt is a military policeman with the 164th Military Police Company based at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska. He is the son of Leslie and Michael Pruitt of West Sacramento and a 2000 graduate of River City High school.
Army Reserve Pvt. Laifeuy Saefong has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, South Carolina.
During nine weeks of training, Saefong studied the Army mission, history, and core values, along with receiving instruction in such things as physical fitness, military weapons, drill and ceremony, map reading, first aid and the military justice system.
Saefong is a 2011 graduate of West Sacramento’s River City High school.
