On Sept. 14, the River City High School Raiders took on the Sacramento High School Dragons at RCHS.

It was the fourth game of the season and the RCHS team was on edge from its three previous loses.

By the end of the first quarter, things didn’t look good for River City. The Dragons in the lead , 14-0.

The second quarter started with a 54-yard penalty against RC for illegal procedure.

The team came back hard, though. The effort featured two interceptions by Malik Dumetz. By halftime, it was 19-17, Raiders in front.

The third quarter saw another lead change, ending at 23-19, Sacramento.

Sac High held on to the lead, finishing ahead 36-31.

Stats for RCHS defense:

Andrew Dutra, middle linebacker had 9 unassisted tackles, 3 assisted tackles, and 1 knocked down pass.

Antonio Perea, outside linebacker had 10 unassisted tackles and 1 unassisted tackle.

Alex Morales, cornerback had 6 unassisted tackles and 2 assisted tackles.

Artis Jackson, safety had 4 unassisted tackles, 1 assisted tackle, and 1 knocked down pass.

Maurice Rodriguez, tackle had 3 unassisted tackles and 3 assisted tackles.

Mike Morales, outside linebacker, returned an interception for a 64 yard touchdown.

Stats for offense:

David Vincent had 19 carries for 445 yards.

Kevin Burkes had 7 carries for 65 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 3 catches for 41 yards.

Tucker McAmoil had 12 carries for 65 yards.

Elijah Thomas had 10 carries for 26 yards, 20 attempts, 8 completions, 1 touchdown, and 2 interceptions for a total of 154 yards.

Malik Dumetz had 3 catches and 1 touchdown reception.

Juan Azcano had 1 catch for 16 yards and 3 kickoff returns for 52 yards.

Vince Chelini had 1 catch for 12 yards and 4 punts of 170 yard.

In the Sept. 14 junior varsity game, Sac prevailed 20-6.
