Heading to the river? West Sac fire stations will lend you a kids’ life jacket

Heading to the river? Taking kids? State law requires every child younger than 13 on a boat, and everybody on a personal watercraft or a towed craft, be wearing a life jacket. Authorities also strongly recommend a life jacket for kids and others playing in or near local rivers. You can borrow life jackets for the day at West Sacramento’s fire stations:
Station 41, 132 15th Street, 617-4741.
Station 42, 3585 Jefferson Blvd., 617-4742.
Station 43, 1561 Harbor Blvd., 617-4743.
Station 44, 905 Fremont St., 617-4744.
Station 45, 2040 Lake Washington Blvd., 617-4600.
