Several new businesses are open – or almost open – in West Sacramento.  Here are a few that caught our eye:

“The Brewmeister” has opened a shop for home beer and wine makers, at 1409 Shore Street in West Sacramento.
It’s one of three “Brewmeister” locations owned by Eric Schmid, a graduate of the American Brewers Guild.
“Our new location is ideally located in the blossoming craft brew area of West Sacramento, within just blocks of Bike Dog Brewing Company, Yolo Brewing Company and Jack Rabbit Brewing Company,” he said in a press release.
The shop offers classes as well as supplies; see or call 371-7299.

“Anytime Fitness” is opening a franchise fitness club in the Southport “Nugget” center, at 2055 Town Center Plaza.
The facility is owned by Rob Cambra, who promises the club is “convenient and affordable.”
The public is invited to a grand opening party April 4 and 5, where they can get special deals, body fat testing, free massages and other perks. Visit

“Go-Kart Racer” is running a little behind its original schedule.
A report from the company on Twitter says the facility at 1430 Enterprise Blvd. is “working very hard designing our tracks and finishing interior details.”
The go-kart business plans 48,000 square feet of track space and about 17,000 square feet of arcade and office space.
You can follow its development on Twitter at @gokartracersac or on Facebook.
