NEWS-LEDGER — MAY 21, 2014 –
Over 40 organizations passed out information at the “Senior Resource Fair” in West Sacramento on May 2. The fair was organized by the Bryte & Broderick Community Action Network (“BBCAN”) and the city parks department.
The fair provided information “that enhances and supports our seniors’ daily living, health and interests,” said Charlotte Dorsey of BBCAN. Some of the agencies on hand were the local police department, bus district, veterans service office, elder nutrition program (“Meals on Wheels”) and more. There was also information on the “active aging” programs of the city parks and recreation program, a raffle, and free blood pressure checks.
BBCAN plans to bring back the fair annually.
